You don't have to build forms or set rules. During a natural conversation, your
bot:
- Greets the visitor and helps with their question using your trained
knowledge.
- Asks for a name early, so the chat feels personal.
- Requests contact details (email and/or phone) at a natural moment — for
example, when the visitor wants a quote, a demo, or a follow-up.
- Confirms and stores the details as a lead the instant they're provided.

What gets captured with each lead
Every lead includes more than just contact info. UpChat also records:
- Classification — the type of lead (for example, a sales vs. service inquiry),
so you can prioritize.
- Source — attribution data like the referring site and campaign parameters,
so you know where the lead came from.
- The full conversation — the entire transcript, so you have context before
you reach out.
You'll be notified
If you enabled notifications during setup, you'll get an in-app badge and an
email when a lead is captured (instantly, or as a digest — your choice). That
means you can respond fast, while intent is high.
