Booking links make the customer *do the work*
Most booking tools make the customer do the work: leave the chat, open a calendar, pick a slot, fill out a form. Half of them never finish. Upchat removes the handoff — the AI that just answered their question is the one that books the appointment, while the intent is still hot.
How it works
Booking appointments in three steps
Set up your appointment types
Guided setup walks you through what you offer (an in-home estimate, a showroom visit, a virtual consult), how long each takes, who can take it, and when.
Add your team and hours
Each team member gets a weekly schedule, time-off dates, and the locations and appointment types they cover. Connect Google Calendar to block out existing commitments automatically.
Let the AI book
When a conversation reaches the right moment, the AI offers an appointment, shows real openings, collects the details, and confirms — with a confirmation email, calendar invite, and a self-service manage link for the customer.
Features
Can I just book
right here?
Yes — and everything behind that booking is handled for you.
Books inside the conversation
Service pick → time pick → details → confirmed, all as interactive cards in the chat. The customer never leaves the widget. The same flow works over the phone with the AI receptionist. See AI Call Taking →
Offers the right appointment at the right time
Each appointment type is tagged by purpose — Sales, Customer Service, Tech Dispatch, or Everywhere — and optionally linked to specific services. A support conversation never gets pitched an estimate; a fence-installation inquiry gets the in-home estimate, not the material pickup.
Real availability, never a double-booking
Slots come from your team's actual schedules, existing bookings, buffer times, and connected Google Calendar busy blocks. Each booking is assigned to one team member using your chosen strategy — least booked, round-robin, or first available.
Request-to-book or instant confirmation
Choose per appointment type. With approval on, your team gets an email with one-click Approve / Decline; the customer sees "Request sent" and gets notified either way. Turn it off for instant confirmations.
Multi-location routing
Run multiple stores or branches? The customer's ZIP code maps to the store that serves their area, and only that store's staff show up in availability. Field services (at the customer's address) keep their own hours and crew, separate from showroom hours.
In-person, field, or virtual
Mark each appointment type as at your location, at the customer's location (collects the service address), or virtual. Virtual appointments get a Google Meet link generated automatically and included in the confirmation.
Custom intake questions
Collect exactly what your team needs up front — project type, property details, preferred contact — as part of the booking flow. Answers appear on the booking in your dashboard.
Hosted booking page + embed
Every chatbot gets a branded, mobile-friendly booking page (/book/your-business) you can link from emails, social, or Google Business Profile — or embed as an iframe or popup button on any site. Pre-select an appointment type with a link parameter.
Customer self-service
Confirmation emails include a secure manage link where customers can reschedule or cancel within the rules you set (cancellation window, max reschedules). Add-to-calendar for Google, Apple, and Outlook included.
Automatic reminders
Email reminders go out 24 hours and 1 hour before each appointment, with the location or join link.
AI Appointment Booking questions
Will the AI book appointments I don't want it to?
No. You control which appointment types exist, when each is offered (sales vs. support), and whether each needs your approval before it's confirmed.
Can customers still book without chatting?
Yes — share or embed your hosted booking page. Same availability, same rules.
Does it sync with my calendar?
Google Calendar two-way sync is built in: bookings appear on your calendar, and your busy events block slots.
What about multiple locations?
Assign team members to locations; customers are routed by ZIP to the store serving them. Field services have their own hours and crew.
Can customers reschedule themselves?
Yes, via the manage link in their confirmation, within the cancellation window and reschedule limit you set.
Can it take payments or deposits?
Not yet — deposit collection is on the roadmap.
Does it work over the phone?
Yes, with AI Call Taking — the receptionist offers openings and confirms the appointment during the call.
